Age hardening or precipitation hardening is a process by which small particles of precipitate fuse into the metal causing molecular structures to rearrange, thus increasing the strength of the metal. Age hardening is great for metals where increased tinsel strength and improved wear resistance is desired. Precipitation hardening can be performed on a number of different types of metals and alloys making it a popular choice for hardening. Our specialty is bright precipitation hardening annealing.
